This new technology is changing how we experience and interact with the world, with potential applications in education, entertainment, and more.
In this presentation, we will explain what is Mixed Reality, how virtual elements can be added to the real world and seamlessly blend with it, how this allows people to communicate in a rich immersive way without being in the same location and how this facilitates people interacting and learning about the environment. We will briefly introduce some of the underlying computer vision and artificial intelligence techniques that enable these immersive experiences.

Speaker:
Marc Pollefeys is a Professor of Computer Science at ETH Zurich and the Director of the Microsoft Mixed Reality and AI Lab in Zurich where he works with a team of scientist and engineers to develop advanced perception capabilities for HoloLens and Mixed Reality.
